nickel plated brass frame with glass inserts
the cabinet has been cleaned and polished so often that the brass is shining through the nickel plating

the door seals very tight, makes it difficult to open and close

interior added later: chrome-plated cross member with hooks and the shelf bracket verticals 

on wheels

we have one key, the lock works

the badge reads: “Appareils & Instruments de Chirurgie LUER Wulfing-Luer 104 Boul. St Germain Paris  Grand Prix 1900” -“Surgical Apparatus & Instruments Wulfing-Luer 104 Boulvard St Germain Paris Grand Prize 1900”

Jeanne Amélie Lüer and Hermann Adolph Wülfing (married 1867) invented the syringe; he set up a factory to produce them, she continued with product development. They won the Grand Prize at the 1900 World’s Fair in Paris, and publicised this on all their products afterwards.
