Result Chair white Kramer Rietveld Ahrend
SoldResult Chair by Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld for Ahrend de Cirkel in white
“The Result Chair (1958) was originally designed by Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld, while they worked at Ahrend. Produced predominately for schools in the 1960s and 1970s throughout the Netherlands, this chair has a particularly strong relationship with Dutch residents as it was a daily part of their lives growing up.” -text: Hay (who now make these in conjunction with Ahrend)
The Result chair is a further refinement of the Revolt chair (1953), it’s design adapted for manufacturing simplification: easier=faster production; you stamp out some shapes, spot-weld together, paint, rivet on the seat and back and done!
white seat and back of ciranol (early HPL) with textured surface and black core
black powder-coated folded sheet steel frame spot welded together
this is an early chair in a rare colour combination
this chair has been left out in the rain and has lots of patina; there are some cracks in the ciranol elements
