In Gispen’s advertisements the chair is presented as the ‘American’ chair and was shown behind a desk or around a conference table. Director Ir. W.F. van Osselen had been inspired by the American market during a study trip to America and Canada in 1946. Armchair 352 was one of the first results of Van Osselen’s American orientation. The chair was also available with a heavy, four-legged foot (no. 358 P, 358 PQ, 358 PQR).” -text: Stichting Gispen Collectie.
