Togo Ligne Roset

The Togo is a classic from 1973 designed by the
French Michel Ducaroy.
The armchair exudes comfort, which was the
intention of the design.
Ducaroy designed the Togo for lazy evenings and
quick afternoon naps.

Michel Ducaroy was born in Lyon, France in 1925.
Ducaroy came from a family of designers and furniture makers,
both for the private and commercial markets.
It was therefore not surprising that Ducaroy went to study
at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Lyon.
After his studies he joined the family business
and in 1952 he decided to continue as an independent
designer.
In 1954 he came into contact with the French Ligne Roset,
within a short time Ducaroy developed into one of
the top designers within the company.
In the early days of Ligne Roset, he was by far
one of the most important people within the company in
pushing
the technological boundaries. 1968 was the year in which
he designed one of the first modular foam chairs,
the low-sitting Adria.

The iconic design of the Togo armchair
was created in 1973
