Gerrit Rietveld believed in affordable furniture for the masses and designed this chair so that it could be made from packing crates (this is long before the rise of corrugated cardboard). He widely published his plans/drawings, now they can even be found on youtube and facebook. To this day people are making these chairs, often with their own “improvements”. This one has a low seat to accommodate cushions.
