Kangaroo chair by Ernst Moekl for Horn
Soldwhite patina wear some small pitting to surface & armrests
In the west we had the Panton chair, in the east, or DDR, they had the “Z” chair, later known as the Kangaroo chair. Initially these were made in the same factory that produced Trabant cars, later production was taken over by Horn, in West Germany. As with all early fiberglass furniture, these were painted over directly after production, as the fabrication process had not been refined yet to produce the high gloss finish we have all come to know and love.
