Depression Era Metal Carousel Horse.

sculptural, heavily muscled, looks more the plough horse than a foal: draft, clydesdale, friesian or shire?

made of stamped pressed steel panels, welded round all the edges;

galloping, jumper, mid-leap;

original paint, white/cream with some red and blue remnants; no indications of ever having been painted over; lots of rust and patina; 

red rubber saddle deteriorating, underneath it we found some of the original leather harness, the rest and the muzzle had been replaced in the 50s/60s with red plastic;

underneath 4 very rusty mounting screws, there would have been a belly plate, there is no pole hole;

the lack of ears, mane and blanked out eyes give our horse a bit of a demonic expression;
